Unity ELD is an established, successful technology company specializing in high-performance B2B software solutions. While our core business successfully operates in logistics automation, we are currently heavily investing in and launching a brand-new, completely independent SaaS platform dedicated exclusively to the European market. This innovative solution focuses on automating data management, eco-modulations, and reporting for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Role Overview

We are looking for a key hybrid professional—a Regulatory Business Analyst who possesses deep, practical knowledge of European environmental regulations and has a proven track record of writing high-quality functional specifications for IT systems.

You will not be writing code, managing infrastructure, or designing system architecture—we have a strong, dedicated in-house software engineering team for that. Your primary mission is to act as the “brain” and the bridge: analyzing complex EU laws, deconstructing fee models, and translating them into clear, logical step-by-step algorithms, data maps, and actionable requirements that our developers can easily implement.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Analysis: Deeply analyze current and upcoming EU EPR and PPWR frameworks (across key regions like Germany, France, Spain, and the UK) to extract core system rules.
• Writing Functional Specifications: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including logic workflows, data mapping (for SKUs, packaging materials, weights, and fractions), and precise fee calculation formulas for the engineering team.
• Reporting Logic Design: Map out and define the exact business logic required to automate compliant reporting for various Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) like LUCID, CITEO, etc.
• Technical Team Collaboration: Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our developers, explaining regulatory nuances and clarifying system logic during planning and development sprints.
• Solution Validation: Review and test developed platform prototypes to ensure they align perfectly with your specifications and actual regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Core Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Product Manager, ideally within regulatory compliance, ERP systems, or sustainability software.
• Domain Expertise: Deep, practical, and up-to-date understanding of EU EPR compliance schemes, material packaging classifications, eco-modulations, and packaging waste reporting.
• Technical Writing: Exceptional track record of drafting clear, structured functional specifications, logical algorithms, user stories, and data models for development teams.
• Analytical Mindset: Outstanding ability to read dense legal/regulatory texts and immediately translate them into mathematical logic and structured data flows.
• Language: Fluency in English with the ability to communicate complex legal or business logic clearly and structurally.
