SHE Manager Spain

Location: Barcelona, Spain

To manage and ensure the overall effectiveness and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) systems across mixed environments including laboratories, facilities, and offices in Spain.

Main responsibilities

  • Drive the development of a strong safety culture and execute the global operational excellence HSE strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety, Health and Environmental regulations affecting employees and facilities, including both local and corporate requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, coordinate annual legal audits, perform safety inspections, investigate incidents/accidents, and follow up on emergency drills.
  • Define and implement preventive and corrective action plans, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver HSE training to all personnel, including external contractors.Support key stakeholders, including laboratory teams (e.g., perfumery and food-related labs) and facility management.
  • Manage documentation related to the approval of external suppliers on site in accordance with Spanish regulations, and support the establishment of work permit systems.

Profile

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Chemistry, Food Technology, or a relatedfield.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, ideally in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
  • Official Spanish certification as “Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales” with all three specialties (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Ergonomics/Psychosociology).
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Availability to travel within Spain.
  • Strong technical expertise, industry knowledge, and proficiency with relevant tools and systems.
  • Adaptability, effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and independent leadership style with the ability to promote HSE awareness locally.
  • Strong alignment with safety standards and values.
