ROLE: PCB Architect – Senior or Lead

LOCATION: Barcelona, Spain

SALARY: €60-85K depending on experience

DURATION: Permanent

Responsibilities:

• Define overall project architecture based on input from multiple stakeholders, creating a clear technical vision for target designs.
• Lead PCB design and layout activities for complex, high-performance hardware systems.
• Manage and mentor a team of PCB Design and Layout Engineers.
• Collaborate closely with Physical Design and Post-Silicon Validation teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform and oversee signal and power integrity analysis to ensure reliable system performance.
• Drive multi-layer PCB design and routing for high-speed interfaces including PCIe and DDR/LPDDR.
• Oversee routing for high pin-count ICs, fine-pitch BGAs, and large package components.
• Develop efficient power distribution solutions for high-frequency, high-power designs.
• Ensure compatibility with industry-standard form factors and COTS interfaces.
• Support production activities including documentation, revision control, manufacturing supervision, and tracking.
• Contribute to acceptance, compliance, and certification testing activities where required.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of relevant PCB design and architecture experience.
• Strong experience with PCB design tools such as Siemens, Cadence, Altium, or similar.
• Proven expertise in signal and power integrity analysis using tools such as Siemens HyperLynx.
• Strong background in multi-layer PCB design and high-speed routing.
• Experience working with PCIe, DDR/LPDDR, and other high-speed interfaces.
• Experience designing boards with high pin-count ICs, small ball pitch devices, and large packages.
• Strong understanding of power distribution for high-frequency switching and power-intensive ICs.
• Knowledge of market-standard form factors and interfaces for COTS compatibility.
• Familiarity with project management, documentation, and revision control tools.
• Experience with acceptance and certification testing is desirable.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent English communication skills (C1 level or equivalent).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
