About ANZEN Engineering:

ANZEN Engineering is a leading engineering company specialized in supporting the development and certification of Safety- Critical & Mission-Critical systems. We collaborate in the most relevant aerospace & defence programs across more than ten countries, delivering value on a global scale with an onsite presence in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Madrid, Spain.

Main responsibilities:

  • Design and develop EWIS including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connector systems compliant with DO-160, SAE AS50881, MIL-DTL-38999, and FAA AC 21-99(0).
  • Perform wire gauge calculations, voltage drop analysis, and current capacity assessments. Select materials, connectors, terminals, and protective components based on environmental and performance requirements.
  • Develop grounding/bonding schemes for electrical safety and EMC compliance.
  • Create harness assembly drawings, wire lists, installation procedures, tooling requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Coordinate wire routing through bulkheads, fairings, and structural members, ensuring proper support, strain relief, bend radius, clearances, and protection from chafing, vibration, and environmental hazards.
  • Support prototype builds and production installations with hands-on guidance; verify proper EWIS component installation.
  • Develop and execute test plans for continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing; perform acceptance testing, quality inspections, and fault isolation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, ICDs, installation manuals, work instructions, QC procedures, and parts lists.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality teams, and suppliers to optimize harness producibility, reduce assembly time, and support procurement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (Master’s a plus)
  • 3–5 years in EWIS design, wire harness development, or aerospace electrical systems
  • Hands-on experience with assembly, installation, and testing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical wiring principles, wire sizing, circuit protection, and EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g. Capital Harness, CATIA Electrical Workbench), familiarity with connector systems, termination techniques, and testing equipment (multimeters, continuity/hipot testers).
  • Knowledge of wire protection methods, composite aircraft EWIS challenges, and aerospace standards (SAE AS50881, FAA AC 21-99(0), DO-160, AS9100/ISO 9001), including lightning and HIRF protection.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and effective in cross-functional teams; able to work independently across office and production floor environments.
