About Avatar Cognition

We are a frontier AI company that has invented and patented a novel computational model for a new breed of intelligent systems. Unlike traditional deep learning and other neural networks-based technologies, Synthetic Cognition —our technology— learns directly from reasonable amounts of diverse data to generalize predictions “off-the-shelf”.

We are licensing this technology to revolutionize Translational Medicine. Synthetic Cognition can integrate heterogeneous multi-omic sources, learn from minimal data, and produce state-of-the-art, fully explainable biomarker discoveries without requiring per-use-case engineering.

Leveraging this unique general-purpose capability, we are expanding our “one-for-all and zero ad-hoc engineering” paradigm to new use cases, aiming to become a new foundational AI technology for the Life Sciences value chain.

About the Position

We are looking for adventurous and talented high-performance computing engineers and PhDs, willing to solve with us the grand challenge of machine intelligence. They will focus on the development of our fractal-computing AI algorithm that, according to our novel computational model, synthesizes bio-like cognitive computation.

Synthetic Cognition is expressing unique characteristics: an agnostic master algorithm embodiable into any type of AI and any set of signal-domains, that with reasonable training data can learn, understand and generalize according to this knowledge the best predictions and solutions.

You will report to the CTO of the company.

Experience & Background

• 5 years professional experience in C++, Go, Rust or similar languages.
• 2+ years of experience with Backend Engineering and API design.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Memory and runtime optimization of multithreading systems.
• Ideally experience in functional languages (Julia, Scala, Haskell,…)

Skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills , capable of translating technical concepts into clear value propositions.
• Result-oriented , proactive, and comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent in English .

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• PhD in a related field.
• AWS Cloud certification.

What You’ll Do

• The tuning, testing, and optimization of our Fractal AI algorithm for general intelligence.
• Measure and improve its performance. Ensuring that it works client-server, fully monitorable through external application
• Development and maintenance of the necessary python and GraphQL APIs for AI engineers and data scientists.
